Following a 1976 horseback riding accident that resulted in a broken leg, Dal Scott started on the road toward founding Professional’s Choice. On a missing to find a way to be more comfortable while also helping to expedite his recovery, Dal developed a neoprene orthopedic product that led to the founding of Dricast Orthopedics, Inc. Due to his passion for horses, however, he soon shifted his focus to the equine industry. He began manufacturing therapeutic equine products in 1986 after renaming his company to Professional’s Choice Sports Medicine Products, Inc.
After making the move to a new direction, the Professional’s Choice research and development team developed the Original Sports Medicine Boot. Making its debut in 1990, the boot proved itself in scientific and clinical studies as being the best protective and shock absorbing leg care boot available. Fourteen years later, the company went on to have another breakthrough, this time in saddle pad technology. With its patented material known as Brock, the SMx Air-Ride Saddle Pad is able to allow air to circulate in order to disperse heat and assist with moisture evaporation.
Today, the legacy continues with new breakthroughs and additions. The company remains a market leader renowned for revolutionizing the equine industry and producing the highest-quality products for horse safety and well-being.
