Reinsman Traditional Loose Ring Snaffle Bit

Loose ring check pieces are forgiving bits for less educated horses or riders as long as riders don't get heavy-handed. Loose ring bits provide minimal stability and will not remain well positioned in the horses mouth if a rider pulls more on one side than the other. This cheek piece requires subtle communication. Loose ring bits also allow freedom of movement of the bit in the mouth by the horse, sometime helping to prevent them from leaning on the bit. The heavy rings allow for better feel for the communication by the rider.

This mouthpiece being double jointed with a ring rather than a lozenge provides additional freedom of movement inside the horses mouth, allowing very subtle communication and the ability to communicate differently on one side versus the other. During the working angle of this bit, the ring will lay flat on the horses tongue.
