4 styles of Saddle Fitting Shims can be made from our Trim-to-Fit shims. All shims come in pairs.
- Trim-to-Fit Shims –4 shims in 1! This full-length shim meets all of your shimming needs! Trim to create a pair of Front, Bridging, and Rear Saddle Fitting Shims or use as a single shim to Boost your overall ThinLine protection and comfort. The most cost-effective and versatile way to shim your pad! Simply use scissors or a box blade to trim.
Photos show the options you can create by trimming them down or choosing to leave them as a full shim.
Inserts stay put without shifting and you may stack up to three sets. We do not divide the pocket, allowing you or your saddle fitter to place the inserts precisely where your horse needs them.
If you find you no longer need inserts, just remove them and keep all the great benefits of your ThinLine Pad!

Western Saddle Pad Shim Colors
ThinLine+ saddle shims are available in black only. ThinLine shims may arrive in black, brown or white. Since Western saddle shims for horses cannot be seen inside your pad, color is not an issue.
Please note: Bridging Saddle Shims for Swayback – If your saddle is bridging, you are missing contact in the middle of the horse’s back and there is too much contact at both the wither and the cantle. When using bridging shims, we recommend you start slowly. Use only one or two at a time. You will discover your horse will begin to lift their top line and develop more muscle with ThinLine. Once the muscle is developed it is often possible to remove one or all of the shims. Good news: you keep your ThinLine pad and horses continue to use their backs correctly.
